Windows Live Mail Error 0x800C013E after update

Windows Live Mail can't download e-mails since the 9h of August 2020 automatic update.

I tried resetting the e-mail account, called my host provider (they don't know what it can be, my e-mail account is ok, I can view my e-mails on-line) then I tried to repair Windows essential, checked security settings (maybe not everywhere) with no effect.
Windows Live Mail always worked perfectly until this update.

    W10 version 2004, build, 19041.388
Windows Live Mail Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3528.0331)
    Kaspersky Internet Security

    Please help.

Unable to send or receive messages for the Fred account. An unknown error has occurred.

    Server: 'mail.fredgrt.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800C013E
    Protocol: POP3
    Port: 110
    Secure(SSL): No

I take it that it didn’t work?
Try changing the port to 995 & turning SSL on.
Also have you tried recreating the account using imap?

Yes, it worked. The registry fix was enough to solve the problem. No need to change anything with your accounts.

Could you please tell me exactly what you did, I am not terribly good with tecki things. I am trying desperately to fix the same problem after an update 3 days ago which has stopped my windows live mail being able to send or receive.

I would advise you to set up the Windows 10 Mail App with your Email Accounts. This is a supported App unlike WLM 2012 which is no longer supported, so long term it will be increasingly problematic.
As you are not technically minded this is the best move.

I LOVE Windows Live Mail and want to keep it after using it for many years. Hate Windows 10 Mail app. Others have succeeded in getting it back after these Microsoft Downloads and I want to do the same. I have tried many things but nothing yet has worked. I am not that bad at sorting things ;-)

Live Mail 2012 Screwed Up After v2004 Update you add or change the registry entries.
If you need to download Windows Live Essentials to reinstall it then let me know.
