How do I GET RID OF this annoying Firefox popup?

    Hi

How do I GET RID OF this annoying Firefox popup [image below] in the upper right of my screen every time I go to the Internet?

I've tried W7 forum but was not able to get back to my orig post to see it's suggestion. Somehow I recd an email directing me to Mozilla, there it got muddy. I have W10 & W7 on 3 PC's.

    Regards,

I don't get the popups but in options scroll down to updates and set it to automatic.

Well I just update manually and use 32bit firefox on a 64bit system. By default FF automatically installs the 64bit version.

I have replied to your original post on Seven Forums here:

The first question should be 'Why don't you want to update Firefox?' and, assuming there is a good reason, the second should be 'What version do you want to stay on?'.
For those who want a long-term stable release that only receives major updates on average every 42 weeks there is the Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR), currently available as 68.10.0esr or 78.0.2esr....

    Downloaded 78 esr,

    Hi,

Bree, Below seems like the simplest solution: I like simple solutions, KISS.

I just downloaded 78.0.2esr. If I run the update, will it keep my present passwords in V 75?

I'll wait for your answer before exploring more on this post.

I cannot say as I generally don't save passwords in my Firefox, but the release notes for 78 ESR make no mention of any changes in the way passwords are stored/used.

    get rid of ff popup

    Bree,

Ive been using FF since it was introduced & it's password option. Ran into no problems or breaches. I access the net for many disparate reasons EVERY FEW MINUTES, every day, all day long. And I have hundreds of passwords.

I just can't take a chance my passwords would be lost.

    Thanks for your fine help.

When you install Firefox you get the option to choose if the maintenance service is also installed.
