How can I stop Edge from prompting me to allow an app to open?
I'm running Win 10 Pro, version 1909. MS Edge version 83.0.478.64.
Using SQl Server Reporting Services.
When I select to edit a report in Report Builder I get a popup - This site is trying to open Microsoft Report Builder. http://[servername] wants to open this application.
I would really like to be able to be able to bypass this.
I've tried the registry hack - adding the dword ExternalProtocolDialogShowAlwaysOpenCheckbox to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge (value of 1)
and I've tried enabling 'Enable remembering protocol launch prompting preferences' from 'edge://flags'.
neither of those has worked.
Also, after I allow Report Builder to open, I also have another dialog box that says We're opening your report in Report Builder...did you run into issues? You'll need Report Builder installed on your computer.
I have it installed and it works.
I would really like to eliminate the need for all the added mouse clicks.
