Can not declare IE 11 as default program

At any rate, sure appreciate the fix Wynona. Now if you can just get MS to bring back Previous File Versions in restore points, I'll be happy with Win 10. I've fixed quite a few cryptolocker problems with that trick....

I used the .reg file and it works perfectly. Now I wonder what would happen if you changed your default browser to, say Chrome. Would Outlook links still open in IE?

I did. I changed the default to Chrome through the settings app and the links opened in Chrome. I then changed the default browser back to IE and the links open in IE. Things are working as they should now in Outlook 2007.

In W7, when you click on a link in Outlook07, the link opens in a new tab in IE11. With this .reg fix, the link opens in a new window in IE11. If Microsoft fixes the problem with the link between Outlook and IE11 in their November(?) refresh/update so a link opens in a new tab, how will we know if they have fixed it without reversing the .reg fix.

I am very happy with the fix. I would just be happier if the link opened in a new tab instead of a new window.

Thanks for the response. I can learn to live with it. I was not happy with the pricing of Office16 in one of the technical emails I read last week and I don't think $100 a year is what I want to spend for Office 365. So I guess I hold onto Office03 and Office07 for as long as I can.

Same here. Since I've seen very little improvement that matters since Office 2003, I see no reason to "upgrade".

I have an Enterprise copy of Office 2007 that installs and updates on any PC with no key needed. I'll stick with that.
