About Windows Live Mail 2012

Hi I have just completed a big update on my Windows 10 pc to the latest 2004 version and it seems to have knocked out my Windows Live mail program hence it won't allow me to send or receive emails. I have tried to delete my account and re-do it but that didn't work just added another account and nothing happened grr. Can anyone help me out here I get the error code 0x800c013e. I see you can no longer download windows essential and I really love to use it much better than stupid Outlook help please

Like it or not, WLM 2012 has been unsupported for over 4 years and you were informed of that.
So you will have to change to a different supported Mail client application.

What you have within Windows 10 is the Mail App.
That works well with modern Email Accounts and even one of my very old Accounts.
I have 6 Email Accounts on there for around 5 years.
In parallel with WLM 2012 initially for the reason it was not going to be supported.
2 of those Email Accounts never worked properly with WLM 2012, so the latter was not as good a some may say.
I used other Mail clients at the time, for testing purposes, but they were eliminated.

I didn't know that WLM 1012 had been unsupported till now so for starters that wasn't much help. So far I have now tried to remove the program from my computer conpletely but it won't budge nor will it work properly.

I have also rolled back my computer to the last update which was the 1909 build. But that hasn't helped anything either.

Have since installed Thunderbird but as far as I can see not liking it very much but will see how it goes.

Next major problem is I can't print an email it just comes out blank and even tried the same thing from my laptop that has not been updated to the 2004 build or whatever it was. So printer will print a photo from another program but not from an email. I don't know what to do next apart from giving Microsoft an ear bashing for stuffing up my computer on me grr

I rolled back my computer to the previous build but it didn't make any difference to the Windows Live Essentials and it is still corrupted and won't even uninstall or go away at all just stuck on the system.

Other issue is the printer won't print out anything of any of my emails. It works elsewhere and printer works fine standing alone but when trying to print email it just prints blank page this is happening on both desktop and laptop now. Laptop hasn't had the lastet build put on it and won't get it either.

I see on Google News there is something about latest update upsetting printers but when I look for the update KB4557957 I don't have it listed at all so only thing that has caused this problem is doing the stupid upgrade to 2004 build grr so not happy with Microsoft at all. Why don't they get it right before releasing it to the public

You're using waaaaaaay obsolete software. The hint is in the fact that you're using software which has 2012 in it, despite it being 2020. That's 8 years ago that Windows thought it would be cool to name software after a year on the calendar, and they do this often to seem relevant. It's only relevant when 2012 seems like the future. Not very relevant though when it's now 2020 and any memories of 2012 are well and truly in the past, at least in terms of the big changes made since 2012. Just to put this into perspective extended support for Windows XP expired in 2014. Windows XP was an OS that was released in 2001, some 19 years ago!

I'm not trying to bash you but I would highly suggest keeping up to date with the most recent software, especially when you're talking about very sensitive communications in emails. You run extraordinary risks each and everytime you run software that has long since not been prioritised for the latest updates. When you use software like this you literally do use it at your own risk and with all those risks only a stones throw away. The only link to Windows Live 2012 I could find was by using Wayback Machine and that link is from 2017. When you have to use an internet archive tool to search into the past you know you're doing something wrong if that search is to find software that isn't available today yet you still want to install.

Use something recent and reputable. Mozilla Thunderbird is a good shout.
