How to stop Edge from loading ...

I do not use or need Edge. I want to stop it from automatically starting. I have tried the registry fix as well as the fix using gpedit.msc. When I restart, Edge is right there. How can I get it to stop preloading at startup? I am on Version 2004 OS Build 19041,264.

These "fixes" used to work in 1909 , seems they dont work in2004................

Still using Legacy (old) Edge with IE11 .
Dont want to install myself , seems MS will update with WU to latest Edge ,soon..............

I use Firefox myself and really have no use for Edge. That's why I would like to keep it from running and using resources. Any suggestions?

Yes, you can use O&O Shutup 10. Very nice to stop things like this.

Note in the pic: " Disable Microsoft Edge launch in the background ".
Works for the newer Chromium based version as well as the legacy version.

Yes - it was included in the latest release...1.8.1412.246

Using O&O is a must for me running Windows 10. So much better being able to easily disable crap and telemetry you don't need.

I just downloaded O&O Shutup 10, and it worked to perfection. Thanks again ...
