Thanks, Callender. I have Firefox set to clean cookies, cache and history when Firefox shuts down. That reduces the trackers that CCleaner finds to an acceptable level. I am reluctant to go any further (deeper) out of concern that I'll get in over my head. I thank you for your help and I am going to consider this Solved.
Wanted to resurrect this thread for a recent, puzzling experience.
I recently installed DuckDuckGo with DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials as my default search engine on Firefox. Previous search engine was Chrome using Chrome.
CCleaner now reports average of 15K trackers before cleaning. Previously, it was about 9K. Not really concerned, but I remain in the camp that the Health Check in CCleaner is likely marketing propaganda.
Change home page to start.duckduckgo.com and configure it's settings.
Personally I ditched it and switched to this:

Thx for the reply, Callender.
Don't have time tonight, will explore tomorrow.
Here's a list of settings.

DDG is not recommended.Your privacy is also affected by which search engine you use. Read about each recommended search engine in UR, so that you can decide which one best fits your needs, values and privacy level.
Personally I just switch search engines when I need to.
