How to recover email from gmail

    Today is the 21st.
On the 3rd or 4th of this month I sent an email on gmail and now I can't find it.
It would now be 17 days since it was sent.
    It may have been deleted.

Does anyone know of a way that I can recover that email?

    Later:
Tried the gmail recovery tool without any success. Any other suggestions?

If you login online, doesn't GMail automatically keep a Sent items folder any more?

It might also still be in the Trash folder. If you do find it, use the move to option to move it back to inbox.

Are you using Gmail via the webmail or via an email client?
Check how many days it is before the bin/trash is automatically cleaned/emptied, if it’s over the time then the message has gone.
Check for any setting to extend how many days worth of messages it shows, some email clients/webmail can be set to only show x days of mails.
Some account have both a Bin/Trash & Deleted items folder - check both.
Check the Archive folder just in case.

Thank you all for your contribution.
I've marked it Solved for now but still have to check the settings as per Bastet's post.
Best wishes as restrictions around covid 19 start to ease.
