    Microsoft Edge Chromium

    Hi folks,

So I recently decided to download the new Edge Chromium and I like it, but I have a question.

Everytime I open the browser there are around 5-13 instances of it running in task manager when I only have one window open and only one tab. Why is that?

I don't know what would be "normal" but I just opened the new Edge and TM shows 7 processes for it, I've done nothing else in it.

I performed a bit of searching and found this:

"The new Edge, much like Chrome, splits off each tab and each extension into its own process, with each occupies its own space and memory. This is to ensure that the other tabs still work when one of them stop working. Most browsers nowadays use the same "sandboxing" but implement it in their own way. Right now, it's just how Edge is designed, and should be working as intended."

As long as it is the browser's standard operating procedure I'm okay with it.

Just started new Edge with 2 tabs open and it says 6 instances.....So I closed it down to one tab and it now says 5 instances.
