    Question converning browser extensions ...

I was thinking of adding some extensions to my browser.
I concern is that most, if not all, of the extensions want persmissions to access webpages visited, passwords, etc..

Seems to me that these extensions are just as risky as not using them.

Why do these extensions need all this information?
Are any extensions trustworthy and safe?

I use both SRWare Iron and Firefox browsers on Window 10.

    Thanks in advance.

There is a discussion on that here:

How secure are extensions in browsers?

    Have a read.

Also read each extension's privacy policy if available.

I only use extensions for blocking ads in routine browsing. For banking, I use Chrome in Incognito mode which disables all extensions.
