Windows Mail - some good mail goes to bulk.

I am using Windows Mail with only one account. I noticed that at times some good mail goes to BULK instead of INBOX. Is there a setting to make everything come to INBOX?

Thank you in advance for all help.

    Hi Tony

Pretty sure that is happening at server.

Bulk is not an MS term, to my knowledge.

What domain are you using for mail, like @gmail.com or @Rogers.com

    Bulk Mail in Windows Mail

    Hi Ken.

I use rogers.com; it is the only email address I have.

In Windows Mail, under the rogers.com ACCOUNT there is a heading FOLDERS. They are Inbox; Sent Items, Archive, Bulk Mail, Deleted Items, &c.

I received a rather serious email from a translation client and I only found it by chance because it went to Bulk Mail instead of Inbox. No harm done because I found it, but .......

    Thanks for answering, Ken.
    Mind as you go.

Could be the mail provider has a limit on the number of addresses being sent to but it could be either the sending server, receiving server or both. Or maybe some setting in your program? I mostly use Webmail but have gotten into the habit of checking the SPAM or Junk folders. And my Domain Host provides E-Mail plus Webmail service and I get daily reports of SPAM and infectious messages caught before getting to me.

First thing I would do Tony is get an email address with MS or Gmail. I usually tell android users to pick gmail and iphone works great with either.

Should you ever decide to switch ISP's all your logins are tied to Rogers account which you would not have access to. Also means a mad scramble to tell email contacts / clients.

There are facilities within Rogers email to smooth the transition which can just about make it seamless to people who email you. You still have to do the work to change your login id's and that can be painful, painful might not be right word, labourious.

If you do it while you are still with Rogers there is no rushing. Just a thought.

I signed into my Rogers email, with browser, they don't have safe sender list. Under filters they did have some help articles.

    Emergency email account

    Hi Ken.

My wife and I have been with rogers.com for close to 30 years and considering our age I doubt we will consider moving to Bell or whatever. Having said that, I just signed up for a gmail account so if anything does happen I could always resort to the gmail.com account. Thanks for the suggestion.

You can retrieve Mail item(s) from the BAULK MAIL box, and Send to INBOX, when using Windows 10 Mail App. Just Right-Mouse click the Mail item, and select MOVE, followed by INBOX. The Mail App will then remember to send further mail from same recipient, to the INBOX. If that is any help.
