If you were using Windows live were you using POP ( and as such were you storing your email in personal folders on your device)?

I've just run EMAIL ADDRESS CHECKER and it says my email is valid and exists so maybe I'm just not getting it set up correctly.
I had to input my email address and password for it to run this check.

    It found:>>>
1/ mail server found for domain and showed the ip address. mx.tb.ukmail.iss.as9143.net then my pc ip address followed here.
2/ Mailserver Identification *** uk mail.iss.9143.net ESMTP server ready.
3/ Stated email address is valid

I'm just not sure what I need to install on my pc for me to be able to get my emails back again.
Can anybody guide me or direct me on how I add my email account to my pc.

    Many thanks

You can continue using Live mail but set the account up as imap or use Windows Mail app.
If you still have the old windows live mail storage folder (Backed up) then your emails will be in there. You should find & save the folder just in case.
    I’ve already posted the settings.

Ken how will I know this now that I don't have any old email files that show this or is it buried within them?
I have run a checker that tells me my email address is valid and active see shortened details above, the post following your 1st post.
I can see it has in the details ESMTP is that the type of thing you are after.
The first email I set up was with Virgin.net and I don't recall them asking for such info but that could be an age thing as it was some 20-30 years ago.

    Thanks

Thanks. The reason I ask is that a lot of email accounts that were set up a long time ago were POP and a number of those were set up to download mail to your PC and then after a period of time would delete the email from the server.

Can you gain access to this account using a browser?

I ask as I'm trying to determine how much mail is on server?

Going back to POP discussion, if you had been downloading then we need to file you files on old HD.

I found a Virgin site but also some discussion, albeit old, that some accounts were part of the TalkTalk take over.

    I'll admit I don't know back story.

First things first lets get you signed in at the right server.

Ken using my explorer with google and inputting my mail address doesn't bring up anything I can interpret.
But when I used EMAIL DATABASE INFO It found a whole tranche of addresses starting at A onto Z...…………..
    ******ots-blueyonder.co.uk
    ******ngs-virgin.net
    ******ne.four-gmail.com

This paste shows my address in the middle and the 1 above and the 1 below.

Is this telling me that my address is valid as the other checker said it was and if so what should I do next?

    Best

Your email address is valid, you use it and people email to you.

I;m going to separate valid from active. I believe your email is valid and active as it was working.

What we need to have happen is that you go to the appropriate web site and enter your sign on credentials.

So what is your email address after the @ symbol?

I don't want your whole email address just the @ and the domain.
