    DuckDuckGo vs. Google Fail

I switched to Duck about 6 + months ago after reading about Duck's improved privacy search criteria but I have come to find out that more often then not Duck's search does not lead to the results that I am looking for. Now I am the first to admit that I might be "searching" incorrectly but if so I'll let others school me.

I use Brave browser. The only extensions I have enabled are uBlock Origin generic (installed it and made no alterations) and DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials. When I search for "consumer reports may 2020" with no parenthesis in Duck this is what I get:

consumer reports may 2020 at DuckDuckGo

No info on consumer reports may 2020.

However still using brave if I go to GOOGLE and search for "consumer reports may 2020" with no parenthesis I get the exact info I am looking for:

consumer reports may 2020 - Google Search

If I search for "consumer reports may 2020" WITH parenthesis in Duck still nothing.

So is that just the trade off using Duck or do I need to tweak the settings. Frankly when I can get away with it I prefer set it and forget it and I am not of the mind to go bat shit crazy making all kinds of adjustments to Duck or uBlock Origin. GOOGLE most likely already know more about me then my family so I am thinking of just going back to GOOGLE's search engine. Thoughts appreciated. TIA.

Using Firefox 74 I checked both links given and got expected usable results but the view/list displays were different, more images on the Google version.

I prefer Startpage.com - The world's most private search engine . As far as I know startpage utilizes Google search info and strips off your IP and personal info.

    About us - Startpage.com

Often the results of a search are smaller than Google but frequently available in an anonymous view.

    It's free, try a test-drive.

Yeah, I forgot to try Firefox however just like with Brave if I have GOOGLE as my search engine selected in Firefox I can search for consumer reports may 2020 and from the home page of Firefox which is Google I will indeed see the same good results that I see in Brave that is consumer reports may 2020 results in all of it's glory however I have in Brave my homepage is DuckDuckGo — Privacy, simplified. and when I search consumer reports may 2020 I get those poor search results. But if as I stated in Brave if I switch from homepage duck to google.com and then search for consumer reports may 2020 I get the "good" search results.

I know this is starting to become convoluted it seems that bottom line if duck is my homepage the search results are not as good no matter what browser I am using.

I tried Startpage and it gave me the same poor results as did Brave and even Firefox with duck as my homepage. It would seem that only the know all tell all behemoth Big G gives me the colorful exact return when searching for consumer reports may 2020

If using it click settings and save as bookmark (or home page) when done.

Privacy vs Usability, you have to make a choice. People want some privacy, but it comes at the cost. This video says, it is a bad thing, but there is too much info on the internet. So would rather see results related to you and to your interests or just some generic searches, that would see a completely random person?
