firefox 74 not showing image file type while saving images

When im using firefox 74 it's not showing the any Save image as options (like jpg or png) while using save image as a command for pictures.

But it does show image the types options when i'm choosing what image to opening them in the browser.
I never didn't tampered with anything related to the pictures after installing it. How do i fix this?
Im using a 64-bit version on windows 10 home editionfirefox 74 not showing image file type while saving images-problem.jpg

    Change Explorer folder view options.

    Relaunch Firefox and test.

I was a bit puzzled by your question: AIUI, Firefox can only save the image in its original (on the web) format, so showing the file type achieves nothing - you will only get one option, which will be the source image type:firefox 74 not showing image file type while saving images-ff-save-image.png

    That's not true.

Choose "All files" and change the extension when saving.

    PNG image in Firefox.

    Saved as GIF:

Or you could save as JPG

Well, I am ready to stand to be corrected, but I think you merely get a file with a different extension, but the same contents - that's what happens when I do it with Firefox v74, and what I expected.

It just converts to the selected format.

It doesn't for me! I'd love to see evidence, if only so I can find out why it doesn't work for me.

Here: Aplogies for delay but I had to sort out video recording/ playback issues after uninstalling a video editor yesterday.

I see that - indeed, my two images (gif & jpg) show the same dimensions on an explorer 'info tip', but when opened with IrfanView, it complains that the .gif is a .jpg with the wrong extension - and I believe it, as the file sizes are identical. Your file sizes are similar, not identical, (for jpg & gif) which is a bit surprising. I can't tell for sure what your FF page is showing, but it looks like it might be a php file (perhaps containing a PNG image ?).

If you are prepared to humour me, please open each in a picture viewer, and see what it makes of them. If it doesn't object in some way, I shall have to investigate further. Or you could upload them both so I can try to open them!
