Can’t Sign In to w10 Mail App..

We get our e-mail via our ISP. W10 Mail has been set up for this provider and says so if you try to add the ISP to the app. When you open the W10 Mail app., the sign in is grayed out and the app will only allow adding a mail server. Not sure what is wrong, and have no idea how to make W10 Mail work. Suggestions please. Would like to use w10 Mail as opposed to a free e-mail app. We are currently using the old Windows Live Mail app., but it’s beginning to have issues with syncing and delivering the “unknown error” message on some e-mails.

Update: I reset the W10 Mail app. and attempted to add the ISP to it. Still getting the response that the e-mail address is already set up and the sign in is still grayed out.
Update2: I uninstalled W10 Mail and Calendar. Ran CCleaner, rebooted, and installed W10 Mail and Calendar from the Microsoft Store. Sign in is still grayed out. Tried to add my e-Mail address to the app and it says it’s already there. Still no sign in.

It should be OK I have been using an ISP supplied Email address with the Windows 10/8.1 Mail App for over 6 years.
It takes a bit longer to add it than others like Gmail, Outlook etc. It "thinks" for longer.

The second to last option is what I used > Add Account > "Other account POP, IMAP". You may have to use "Advanced setup".

You have to tick/not tick the boxes for SSL, authentication etc. with correct server names and ports for IMAP. These should be provided by your ISP. The port number after a colon in the mail server boxes.

If you get it wrong delete it and start again or Reset the App.

Thanks. I used the advanced options and got the account set up in Mail. Had to turn off SSL for incoming and outgoing mail. Ended and restarted Mail, but sign in is still grayed out. Will try a re-boot.

Update: afrter bootup, sign in is still grayed out. No way to navigate the app that I can see from the welcome screen.
just noticed that in mail and calendar settings page, E-mail Permissions is turned off and I can’t slide the option to on. Both mail and calendar permissions are grayed out. Mail is set as the default mail app also. Am I missing some sort of prerequisite.

It looks like I had a permissions and privacy issue with the apps. Took awhile to find the source of the problem. Seems to be working now. I appreciate the assistance.
