It's not really to do with history per-say it's to do with trying to stop predictive url's list showing when typing an url in the address bar of (old) Edge. To do the same in Chrome you would need to follow the same settings as in Edge.
OK, which settings ? Where ? In Chrome, where ?

I can`t find the settings to not let it auto fill in the address bar, I turned off auto fill in Chrome, and the list still comes up if I type Y

I just turned every option off in Edge (which I do not use) and a list still appears under the address bar.

OK, I got it fixed in Edge (which I do not use) but I still have the same issue using Chrome.

Google Chrome > Settings > type in the search box : autocomplete > Sync and Google services > Autocomplete searches and URLs > slide off.

I did that and items are still coming up.

    Even after clearing history.

    It`s still auto predicting.

Thank You I`ll see if it works ans report back

OK that article is from 2012 and does not work with the current Chrome browser, a lot of things/items it wants you to find are just not there anymore.

I have no idea why the font changed color, sorry about that. ( I use the TenForums dark theme )

Wow, John has added some new skins, Awesome But I still want a totally Black theme, like at SevenForums

    • In the Privacy section, deselect the “Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar” option.

This is just not in Chrome anywhere now.

Sorry, need to do a bit more extra ....
Also slide OFF the option Show suggestions .... etc

Also, just realised the predictive entries normally come up as "Google search" suggestions. I don't have Google as my search engine (DuckDuckGo)

Already have that slider set to off, it doesn`t help.

And there is no "Use prediction service" in Chrome anywhere to be turned off. I can`t find it anywhere in Settings.

You are indeed right, they have re-organised things and those references are wrong.
Cannot find those options either. I am a Chrome user latest official version.

You can click on More v in Privacy and security, however the options have gone/list changed.
The nearest in function would be "Preload pages for faster browsing and searching" > OFF(greyed slider).

If you have a Google Account you may have to go through the privacy settings as they do link without your permission to other Google products/services, I had a problem with searching in YouTube giving ridiculous results.
    Manage Google Account > Security.
Manage Google Account > Data & personalisation.
and check the other categories as well, you are bound to find some unwanted links in there you don't know about.
You may have to clear the current data held.

I don't sign in to Google whilst using their Chrome Browser.

Your original post asked for solutions on how to remove browsing history from Edge Chromium. Can't be much more simpler, and easier than my reply.
    Chromium was not mentioned.

I want to be able to type an address in the address bar (ie ebay.com) BUT it lists a number of other addresses I was at and before I know it I hit enter (old habits) and I go wherever that page was. Why is this data 'saved' in edge, can I get that crapola removed so when I type in the address bar I can just hit enter, and go where I want to?
