how to get yahoo for email

ok i use yahoo for my main browser and email. so when i click on an email i get windows email page that has the yahoo email in it.

before i had win10 when i clicked on an email i got yahoo email page to show, so is there actually a way to have this back. i just do not like the one that win10 brings up as the spell check for one sucks bad and inserting is not what i'm used to, so if i can get back what i'm used to that would be great. thanks

It's not clear what exactly you are looking for. This is the Yahoo Mail page I see, regardless if i'm on a pc, mac, or linux. I don't think Windows has anything to do with how the page looks or functions.

The email link you see on a web page is called a Mailto link. What happens when you click a mailto link is controlled by a setting in the browser you are using to see the page, not a Windows setting. What browser do you use?

i use chrome so then i have to see if chrome can make me get to yahoo instead of outlook. thanks

ok went thru all that and now i get gmail as the one that shows when i click on a link. so that is much better than outlook. when i got to the handler section i had google but it was not working so i deleted it and then that section was blank. so i just when to a website and had an email show up and i clicked it and gmail opened for the email. i have gmail set to forward email to yahoo so at the worst i can start with gmail and then it will switch to yahoo if i get a reply.

it would be better to have yahoo first, but with some messing around i may get it. thanks

I don't use Chrome, but as far as I can see it should be possible to use Yahoo. See the section 'Can I manually add a web-based email service to Google Chrome for use as the default for email links?' a bit further down in that page I linked to.
