    Yahoo mail password retrieval.

    Version 1909 (OS Build 18363.657)

I was sure that I had it safely on an external hard disc. Seems I was wrong
I've tried various "solutions" found via a Google search but I end up going in circles.

Does anyone know a way to do this ?

Password retrieval is not generally available for anything. Password reset is.

Go online to yahoo and attempt to log in then click on the link for Forgotten username / Forgotten password and take it from there.

I'm no further forward. Still going in circles.

I generate a new password with Roboform, enter it ad nauseam.

Please explain what you have done whilst using the Yahoo Forgotten username / Forgotten password procedure.

    Click on Yahoo login shortcut

Window opens up with my email address displayed, a "Next" button, an already ticked "Stay signed" in box, a "Forgotten username?" option, and a
"Create an acccount" box at the bottom.

    Clicked on Forgotten username.

    This opens up:

    1) Clear your Cookies, Passwords, Autofill, Form data, from your Web Browser.

    2) Wait a day, try again and make sure you don't make a mistake entering password.

It is spam protection which thinks repeated changes or password entries in a short time is a Mail bot at work.
    Also run your Antivirus application.

In order to set up two-step verification I would have to log into my account.

As I have forgotten my password I can't do that.

Yes, I have a cell 'phone. How does that help?

Try your mobile phone # or another e-mail address... Mobile phone gets you right in with a verification number to sign in with.

Sign-in email address or mobile number
Recovery phone number...needed for recovery ...check messages on phone!

That sounds a good idea. However, I have a simple 'phone, not a smartphone, so I can't do that.

    Perhaps I should buy one.
