    gmail insists on log-in. Why?

    1903 (OS Build 18363.535

I used to be able to access gmail from a desktop shortcut without having to log in. I now have to.

What changes do I have to make so I no longer have to again?

Make sure the cookies are not being deleted. The browser might be clearing them automatically when it closes. What web browser are you using?

    I'm using Chrome.

I use CCleaner quite frequently. I have reinstalled a few cookies which were in the delete box.

Let's see if that improves things.

Are you signed into chrome in the browser?

Make sure you are not using incognito.

Sign in and turn on sync

To turn on sync, you'll need a Google Account.

    1. On your computer, open Chrome.
    2. At the top right, click Profile .
    3. Sign in to your Google Account.
    4. If you want to sync your info across all your devices, click Turn on sync Turn on.

If you want to sync more than one account or you share your computer with others, learn how to add a profile in Chrome.

Once you sign into chrome with your google account, you can access everything google without having to sign in everytime. And if you turn on the sync function, your bookmarks and saved passwords will sync with your google account.

It was ok, but it's reverted to insisting on my password.

    What else can I do?

Sometimes it will randomly ask for security purposes. There isn't much you can do about that other than checking the trust this pc box when you go to sign in. But it still will ask sometimes. As I said before, make sure you don't have an extension or something clearing your browser cookies when you close the browser.

    Check your cookie settings

    You can also reset chrome

Ccleaner or anything similar running in the background, or, set to run at browser closing?

I have CCleaner installed. Does it run in the background? If so, how do I disable it?
