Any way to convince Windows 10 that Firefox is my default browser?

Hmm... that's odd. Give this a look see - Setting Firefox as the default browser does not work - What to do. And yeah, if only one of six PC's is giving you the issue it's most likely something to do with that specific PC. What it is is the question. No idea here.

BTW. Do you have Edge Chrome installed?

Joe, maybe you need to rattle it a little in case something got half updated. In Apps, set your default browser to Edge (it's ok to grit your teeth while doing so ). Log off and back on. In Apps, set it FF. Open FF and see what happens.

Hi Tom
Well, I made Edge my default browser and and brought it up.
Then dropped out and brought it up again.
Guess what?

Then made my default browser Firefox. still no good.
Probably time to give up?

I don't think it's the Chrome version.
I have it only on one computer.

Let's relax for a while and I'll go into the good article on making Firefox the default browser. Wish I had seen it when I was Googling the problem.

Just a thought..... on the one PC that's balking, you may want to do a "reset" on the FF. If you have all you Sync stuff set up in options, it should clear and set FF back to all like a new FF, and re-sync all your extensions and stuff right back.

Until the 15th of January this was a Windows 7 machine and I never had this problem.

Unfortunately Windows 10 is not Windows 7 and as such doesn't behave the same. Also the Browsers operate differently - IE vs. Edge. With that... welcome to the new experiences of Windows 10 (no sly remarks meant)

Still the same here.

I've been on Windows 10 ever since it was released but only on one computer and also didn't use it very often so a lot of my experiences are new to me.
