Microsoft Edge will not open PDF files from a websites

Microsoft Edge will not open PDF files from a forum that has a thread with a pdf file attached.

It wants me to save the pdf to my HD instead.

I'm using Adobe Reader and this is the first I have noticed this change.
    Edge Version 80.361.62 64bit

The Extension App shows pdf is linked to Adobe Reader.

    Any suggestions

Funny I did have Foxit and that is when the issue started.
I uninstalled and installed Adobe Reader and got the same result.

So it seems it not the pdf reader but something at the website I tried it on.
I went and googles pdf files and opened many pdf's with no problem.
Maybe the particular forum website I use and not a problem on my side.
Will keep looking and trying things.

I uninstalled Adobe Reader, Foxit and made Edge the pdf reader.
Well it works here on my desktop HD but still won't open when I go to that website.

Any download pdf files here on this website I can try and open?

I ditched Adobe Reader and use Chrome to open pdf files. For some reason the pdf file opens in Chrome on some sites and on others I have to save the file before I can read it. I've always assumed this behaviour is controlled by the pdf file access rights?

Note instead of answering your question people took the opportunity to dish the program. Not sure how that solves the issues?

Anyway, the issue is NOT an Adobe issue but a security feature imposed by Edge. Also what happens when you double-click the PDF document?

Anyway you can set Edge as your default PDF reader but bear in mind all PDF files will open with Edge when you click on them. Anyway, Start, Settings, App, Default Apps. Under the Default app heading scroll down to the Choose default apps by file type link. Scroll down to .pdf file and choose Edge. In the below image I've got my pdf to open with Adobe Acrobat 2017...

And BTW I've been using (and still using Acrobat) Adobe Acrobat or Reader since 2000 without issue.

Thank you but I had it set that way and the specific website wouldn't allow me to open the pdf file and just allowed me to download and save.
When I had Adobe Acrobat install all pdf files were to open but it but it didn't work for me.
Like I mentioned previously I think it was the website I was on only and not the program.

I just added a pdf file here and unable to open it just tries to make me save it to my HD.

Be aware most pdf files will want to download instead of automatically opening in the browser. There are some sites that are pdf instead of html and those will open in a browser (if that makes sense).

Anyway can you point a specific site in question where the "issue" occurs?

And sorry, I don't know what that file is or where it come from to try and fiddle with.

    Thanks.

Once the file downloads click the settings icon (three dots) near the file and select 'always open with system viewer'. It will still download the initial file and will open in the browser. Don't know if that helps. Assuming Edge Chromium we're discussing.
