    How does Calender work

Windows 10 v 1909 64bit.I have just tried using Calender in Outlook for the first time.Inserted messages on
three different days. Each insert had the option of "Remind me one day before"but each day came but I didn`t
see any reminder anywhere. Is there something I have to enable?

When you say Outlook do you mean the program Outlook, so like Outlook 365, Outlook 2019 or Outlook 2016.

Under options these need to be on

Click File, click options, click Advance

Thanks for the reply Caledon Ken,no it`s not the programme Outlook,it`s the email Outlook which just has an icon
to "switch to calender"where you then insert your instructions. It dosen`t have the File, options, advanced, selections
    as you have shown.

Was outlook.com opened in a browser?

Check these options in outlook.com - Desktop notification appear for mail but I would turn those on as well to see if you get reminders with just browser open, no outlook.com active.

This is the Windows 10 Mail App, or rather the linked Calendar App.

Windows 10 Settings > System > Notifications & Actions Notifications > tick options you want below that.
Further down page > Get Notifications from these Apps > Calendar > Click on that for more options.

Settings > Privacy > Background Apps > On > Mail and Calendar On.
