Editing junk filter list

Windows 10 junk mail filters are just not doing the job. I am trying this as an attempt to shorten up the list. Multiple duplicates in list just by changing one of the numbers/letters in the username keeping the domain name. i.e. look at the top entry (picked at random) you will see the complete address. I have separated it out on line 2 and then stripped off the user name then add *@ leaving the domain name shown on the 3rd line. Concept is that any address will be filtered of that domain???

Seems like a lot of work, but Excel will convert that list in a second. (probably have a thousand or more) I have exported the list, let Excel do its thing and then import it back to the blocked list.

Opinions appreciated.

Can I ask what domain you are using for email, like outlook.com, yahoo, etc?


Strange that any of the big houses would not just filter this away before you see it.


In outlook.com you simply enter domain to kill. So an entry like gmail.com would filter all email from *@gmail.com but you don't enter the asterisk or @ symbol.

Problem with blocking domain is the domain just keeps changing so all you do is keep adding entries.

Interesting that an MSN account ( outlook, hotmail, msn, live) would even permit such junk to get to you.

My example on how to block a domain is valid, at least when enter through a browser, on a Microsoft account.

I must have a look at the safe senders options to see what would allow those types of emails through. Something doesn't seem right.

Yes even on the Web version those are the two filters.

Are yours actually on, with check marks as per your screen grab.

What I'm still not understanding is how all this junk is getting to you. Is as if the spam filters are off for your account.

You can certainly block domains as you suggested but the question remains why are they even getting through to spam?

That is the question I can't answer. Was quite normal until about 6 weeks ago. AT present, averaging 75-90 per day. Solicitations about females are about 1/2 of that now.

Trying Office Outlook 2016, Safe lists only, no change. I also checked all (except US) on Top-Level Domain list & Encoding list as a further test.

If you mark them as phishing for a day or two can you see what happens.
