    How to get the old about:config page back in Firefox

    This is helpful if you don't really like the new About:config page in Firefox, and want the previous compact one back.

    about:config in the URL box currently gives the redesigned page:

    then you have to click Show All to get

    Instead of using about:config in the URL, use chrome://global/content/config.xhtml

    gets you the old one:

    Much more user friendly, especially creating new entries!

    I'm thinking, now how do I go about saving the new link when the about:config address is just that about:config ?

    Here's what I did;
    I went to where I saved the about:config bookmark, right clicked on it and opened Properties at the bottom.
    Then pasted chrome://global/content/config.xhtml in the blank location box and when tested it opens the old style about:config.

    Thanks for catching the fix TC

    Just passing it on, I like the old one better, too. Nice bookmark mod!

    Thanks TC, I adjust a lot of bookmarks when the target changes for one reason or another I'd believe this would work even if there was a url there, all I'd do is paste over it.

    Another handy one for Firefox:

    chrome://browser/content/places/places.xhtml

    Opens 'Library' in a tab...
