Missing folders in my Windows 10 mail

Today I was organising my mail and moving around some folders. I was happy with the results and could see these folders so I went on with some emails. Clicking MORE again to use these folders showed that they were missing (including their contents).
Any ideas how to find them or how they are stored so as to retrieve them?

Hi debmac. Welcome to the TenForums @debmac

I would use the search mail facility to search for some specific things you know belong to that groups of email.

    I would also search deleted.

I think I would also sign in to your email directly with a browser and see if they are still present. If using gmail check deleted and archived.

Assuming you are using IMAP for your Email Account go to the Account settings and adjust the sync settings to a shorter interval.

Open the same Account from Webmail to check whether those folders have been made in the Email server, Windows 10 Mail just syncs with those folders.

A lot of Email Accounts and client applications have some fancy features like focused Inbox or other organisational features. Those I switch off in favour of a straightforward Inbox.
