Can you only open and minimise one web page in new edge

When i minimise a web page and open another web page in Edge and try to open the first one it is not there on explorer 11 i could open four or five and minimise them and they would still be there is there some setting i have to open or is it not possible to have more than one web page minimised

You can have more than one instances of Edge open and minimise one or more of them of them and keep the other one open and go back to the other one by hovering over the Edge icons on the taskbar and selecting the one you want just see the screenshot I have posted is your problem not being able to open more than one instance of Edge or are you trying to do something else look in the screenshot you can see Edge maximised and two other thumbnails showing minimised instances of Edge each of which could of course have several pages open in tabs if you wish PS using punctuation does make things clearer

Mine is not doing what you have explained. Where you have shown the three minimised pages which i can do in explorer 11 it is not doing in new edge when i minimise a page then minimise another one and hover over edge icon only the last one i minimised is there

As you look at screenshot pages minimised are shown at top. The bottom bar that i hovered over is only showing one

Maybe we're not on the same page, terminologywise. Your snapshot has four active tabs in ONE active window. Minimize to me means a window (which may have several open tabs) is minimized by hitting - sign in upper R corner.
Here's 3 active windows, including yours, minimized and showing in taskbar mouse hover. To test, r-click one or more of the grey tabs and choose 'Move to another window. Minimize any or all windows and mouse hover should look like my screenshot. Haven't used IE in more than 5 yrs, so if you're expecting different, please explain. Good Luck.

I am reading this in Firefox and can right-click the icon in the Taskbar and open New Window then minimize each of them. It won't work with opening New Tabs.

mrgeek I have always gone to minus sign top right hand corner after clicking it minimises to logo in explorer 11 and the page is doing the same thing in edge if i repeat this in explorer 11 and minimise a couple of pages they go to logo at bottom task bar then when i hover over logo it will show me all the pages i have minimised but if i do this in new edge it knocks out the first ones i have minimised and just leaves the last one but all the pages i have minimised show on the top bar if you look at my screenshot the three i have minimised are at the top and the one i have open is the only one there at the bottom when i hover over logo

"if you look at my screenshot the three i have minimised are at the top and the one i have open is the only one there at the bottom when i hover over logo"

Like I said, I haven't used IE in many years. At this point, if I'm understanding correctly, you want to minimize one window and have a preview of each tab when you mouse hover the taskbar icon ?
Just tested this in PaleMoon, Chrome and Firefox and they all behave like my screenshot-If you only have one window open, like in yours, only the active tab (non-grayed one) will highlight with mouse hover. You then have to click the preview and then click any tab to view the others.
If what you're saying is that a preview of each tab should show in a mouse hover, I can't imagine even IE does that. Some people may have 20 or more tabs open at one time, the previews wouldn't have enough horizontal space on the screen.
I will defer to anyone using IE11 to comment on how your tab preview feature should be working.

Thanks for showing, point taken. Just curious, what happens if you, like my example, have 20 tabs open ? Do the preview windows just shrink or is there an L-R arrow at the ends ? I'm always trying to learn.
Bottom line; Edge works like any other up to date browser I use, so you'll have to keep using IE unless there's a workaround I'm not aware of. Cheers
