How to fix Mozilla Firefox access denied

    In this Ten Forums link
Windows 10 1809 Home Edition support question!?

Post #19 has a Microsoft link that displayed:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...cle-fact-sheet

When this was clicked using Mozilla Firefox it displayed:

    Access Denied
You don't have permission to access "http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/13853/windows-lifecycle-fact-sheet" on this server.

    Reference #18.5d472317.1580565659.3c141f2e

After a Mozilla Firefox update all http://support.microsoft.com displayed access denied:

    Access Denied
You don't have permission to access "http://support.microsoft.com/" on this server.

    Reference #18.3f472317.1580569102.273e7c81

If another browser is used there are no access denied problems.

Where in the Mozilla Firefox settings is there a menu setting that can fix this problem so that they can open the website?

Could it be that the URL is HTTP and not HTTPS? A security thing? Try adding an 'S' to the URL? It can't hurt to try it can it?

I tried all 3 links on Firefox 72.0.2 [latest] running on Win10 Version 1909 Build 18363.628 [latest] and had no problem with them opening, no warnings. I'm using Windows Defender, no third-party antivirus.

I put "http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/13853/windows-lifecycle-fact-sheet" into Firefox search and it changed the URL http to https. I was able to view all sites.

The access denied problem was fixed by performing the following steps:

    1) left click on the lock before the URL

    2) Left click clear cookies and site data

    3) Refresh any webpage displaying access denied

I also get this issue with "Access denied" in Firefox only. Lowes, Home Depot, Spectrum (my ISP and mobile provider), and Meijer grocery stores - to name a few. It seems a lot of mainstream e-commerce sites. The solution posted here does not apply or does not work simply because I delete all cookies and history upon exit, as well as frequently scrub using cleaning software. When I try to look at the website history, there's nothing there. I am using adblock, and noscript for additional security, but even with all scripts enabled *shudder* nothing works to unblock the sites. I have even tried my VPN using a US IP address, but still no joy. The same sites work in Edge, but I would rather have a colonoscopy. I have tried some other browsers, but this is ridiculous. The message is becoming more prevalent as well. What really sticks in my craw is e-commerce sites break on the browser I'm trying to use to help maintain a semblance of security.

To solve the problem access denied I'd opened a support ticked with Firefox.
    Consider opening a thread.
They had had a quick response time.

Let us know the latest troubleshooting steps.

Check in the menu, under general and network settings in Firefox that 'use system proxy settings' is ticked. That's the default setting.
