Firefox won't download some files
I tried downloading a BIOS update for my mainboard a short time ago, but couldn't get it with FF 72.0.2. When I clicked on the icon to start downloading, the download box only flashed briefly and was gone. Nothing downloaded. The same thing happened each time I tried. This has happened a couple of other times in the recent past. FF has downloaded other things with no problem. I turned off WD and unchecked "Deceptive content and dangerous software protection" under FF Options, but no difference. Edge downloaded the BIOS file without hesitation. Any ideas what the problem with FF might be?

If it is for your ASRock motherboard, it's probably a small zip file that downloads quickly and doesn't open automatically. Check your downloads folder or just click on the down arrow in the upper right corner of the Firefox browser.

I did. The file just wasn't downloaded until I used Edge. When FF downloads successfully, a box always pops up first giving me the options of saving or opening. That's the box that flashed for about a tenth of a second each time I tried. It was like some security setting was stopping the download, but I'm not aware of having anything installed that can do that except WD and FF itself.

Click the three horizontal bars in the upper right corner, select "Options", scroll down to "Applications", find the application that handles zip files and make sure it it set to "Always ask". If it isn't, highlight it, click the down arrow and change it.
