And again they forced a shortcut upon my blessed pristine desktop.
This time I wrote them a nastygram with photo proof, and told them; I realize they are desperate to get people to use Edge, but "cut the sh!t".

Opera is worse. It pins a shortcut to the taskbar.

I still like to place shortcuts to some programs on desktop just in case I end up on it which is not very often. There's usually several windows open at same time.

That's what I use Start for, pinning often used. Plus I have Edge on my taskbar anyhow.

I just hate bad installers that don't give you the option or to pin on desktop or not, and this is an update, so it has NO reason whatsoever pinning anything, after the initial install.

I don't mind the desktop shortcut appearing for Edge after an update - I just delete it.

However, this tends to be a bit on the annoying side - it seems to appear after a certain number of updates (or after a certain period of time, not too sure).

And, it doesn't usually appear straight after updating, Edge has to be closed and opened one or two times after the update before I see it.

My choice is always the second option, of course.

Just can't take a hint sometimes, can they? I use Firefox as my default browser although I do use Edge occasionally.

Oh, and the other thing I find slightly annoying with Edge is that after each update I have to go through all the settings to see if something else that I will probably never use has been added (and always turned on by default).
