I suspect an update income as like other i am getting delays or failures in checking for update.

Yes, it was known for a long time that the downloads menu was going to change:

In the Canary and Dev versions it is now easier and faster to access the Downloads, Favorites and History pages, you just have to middle click on the toolbar button or you can also hold down the CTRL key and click the button.

There is a way to disable the new flyout menus.

Thanks, I'd still rather have the menu on the bottom of the page, sigh. I have my toolbar hidden up top.

microsoft has problems. page http://edge.microsoft.com/ says:

Our services aren't available right now</h2><p>We're working to restore all services as soon as possible. Please check back soon.

Also having issues updating Edge (tried beta and canary), either comes up with an error message or just hangs.
I'm from Asia Pacific region (New Zealand)
