Yeah, it opens to the New Tab page on the second instance for me as well.

I haven't seen a way yet to specify the New Tab page to open to a site. Just to change the background, layout, and quick links instead so far.

Yeah that's what I thought. Ok, not a big deal. Was more for a friend who has a habit of opening the browser again from the quick launch when he want's to get to home page fast (he's not good with tabs) and is doing something in the current browser window. But I'll just suggest to him to do as usual and click the home page link .. there are multiple ones including the home button... on the tab page so shouldn't be so hard. Thanks!

    Added: thanks Brink..that's interesting.

I suppose I can't do this because of the domain.

    EDIT:

I just found a NewTabPageLocation policy below for Microsoft Edge to specify a default URL for the new tab page, but it's only for when joined to a domain.

    Would this do it?

    Hello Keith,

It would for the Home button, but not for the New Tab page.

Not being able to set a specific URL for new tab has been a complaint since Edge first started. One of the few things I don't like about Edge or Edgium.

Correct, it would only apply if joined to a domain. Not for us mere desktop users yet.
