These links can be disabled in the gear menu, but if you don't want to disable them completely but rather hide them temporally, you can use this button.

On my W10 Home laptop which is still on Winver 1903 (OS Build 18363.959), Edge installed automatically as part of WU going straight from the "old" Edge to Version 84.0.522.44 (Official build) (64-bit)

It will show this error afterwards.

The tiles in the New Tab Page are now smaller and when you hover the pointer over them, the transparent background appears, in Chrome's NTP, the shortcuts behave the same way when you hover over them.
