Microsoft has fixed the "white flash" bug in the flyout menus (in Edge Canary), this bug appears when opening those menus, here are some examples:
Favorites menu (GIF).
Collections menu (GIF).
History menu (GIF).
Downloads menu (GIF).
This white flash no longer appears when opening the flyout menus in Edge Canary:

The option to open Favorites folders as Tab groups is now also available in Edge Canary (it was added in Chrome Canary a few days ago):
