Microsoft has added a new flag that will allow the new flyout menus to remember whether they were previously pinned or unpinned (Edge Canary): Attachment 330621
After testing all 3 options this weekend, I definitely prefer the second one, Show unpin and close buttons
Apparently Edge developers have already made a decision, the flag that allowed to enable these 3 options has been removed (in Dev and Canary), and the option that appears by default is the second one: "Show unpin and close buttons":
IMHO, that's the best and clearest option for the average user.
