As usual the idiots @ MS breaks the Edge 90 update from 89.
IF you want it to update Edge, TURN OFF all Windows Security Treat Protections Settings.
Then run Edge,,, Settings,,, ABOUT,, and Edge Chrome will UPDATE to 90.0.818.39 (Official build) (64-bit).
May take slightly longer but will work.
Turn back on your security settings.
Many of were on 90 to start with and now 91, if you read the previous page you will see MS stated they were having issues and it was probably worldwide.
Seems fixed for me now.

Seems it's not quite fixed if the servers are still struggling to keep up.
Hence I said "seems fixed for me now" as I am talking about my own situation but it could randomly act up again but as it is bedtime I will not know till later and it may be totally fixed by then.
Well it's 'fixed' for me too, in the sense that it updated on the second try for both my machines. No doubt the server will be back up tp speed by tomorrow
I just checked mine and it only takes a second to check now. I tried multiple times and it is fine.
I got the update last night with no problem, but today it was failing.

Just got 90.0.818.41 -- for me the update issue is gone.
Yes , MS fixed the errors with this latest Edge-update ...............
