New Edge Browser & Pause Windows Updates

If I pause Windows Updates for 7 days will it stop the new Chromium based Edge browser from installing this week? I have Windows 10 Home 64 bit v1909.

It should stop all updates installing for 7 days, you can click it again to add another 7 days to the pause if you like.

I'm actually looking forward to it.

    Opinions?

I've had the Edge Dev version on one machine for a while now. It's a huge improvement over the old Edge. Can't fault it.

Thanks for the link to the tutorial. It gives two options to block the installation: a Reg file and the Blocker toolkit. It doesn’t mention pausing Windows Updates, even as a temporary solution. I wonder why?

You're not alone, I'm looking forward to it's release too.

I’m looking forward to it too. I just don’t want to be the first one to get it. I’d like to see how smooth the roll out is, how extensions are handled, etc. That’s why I’m asking if a 7 day pause with Windows Update would work.

I agree. That's why I'm waiting a week after it is rolled out, lol!

You won't be the first as plenty of people have been testing it for the past month or two. Extensions are handled in the same way Chrome ones are. So far the browser has been stable.
