I don't always update it to the newest version as I sometimes like to keep the existing version by renaming or deleting the update_notifier.exe file from the C:\Program Files\Vivaldi\Application folder after install/update

I have the latest standalone version and disable update checks. I check manually via the toolbar menu "Help" > "Check for updates" and only install after a few days if there are no confirmed bugs.

weird ... 4 times download from official site with latest version, and i got the same bug about zoom
when i set both option to another option. the zoom is permanent
but if i set startpage.... the zoom use default zoom

I can see that your start page is set to https://vivaldi.com

I my version it's not possible. If I let it use default start page it sets automatically to vivaldi://startpage
