"Take a screenshot" missing from context menu in Firefox 71.0

I have a new desktop computer (Windows 10.0.18363) - replaced a Windows 7 machine just before Microsoft ceased support - that I just configured a few days ago.

As I've been doing for 15 years, I was easily able to port my Firefox profile and settings from the old computer to the new, so my browsing experience - cookies, passwords, history - works exactly the same as before.

But for some reason, the "take a screenshot" context menu item is missing now. This is NOT the same as the "page action" (three dots) > "take a screenshot" in the address bar. This is a better tool that allows one to adjust the area being screenshotted, and capture just that, and it's accessed from the context menu in Firefox in other Win10 computers I use.

This has nothing to do with the extensions.screenshots.disabled and extensions.screenshots.upload-disabled settings from about:config. Both of these are set to false for me.

I am sure this is related not to FF 71 (all my computers update to the latest FF when it's released), but to my doing something wrong in configuring my new computer.

Anyway - how do I add the "take a screenshot" capability to my FF 71 context menu, as it is in other Win10 installations I have?

    How about looking at this.

You of course would be going the opposite way.

I'm not sure what you did to make the context menu disappear, I still have it in FF 71.0.

But I can see no difference in taking a screenshot when starting from "page action" (three dots) or from the right-click context menu. Both appear to bring up exactly the same tool in my FF 71.0. I can click and drag to select a precise part of the screen either way.

Thanks Ken, but I just edited my original post with material information that I'd overlooked before. The disabling of screenshots was already at the default false setting in about:config.

    Hmm... interesting.

When I bring up "take a screenshot" from the three dots, nothing happens. I assumed it was just going to a paste buffer like "Print Scrn" does. But when I "took a screenshot" from the three dots, and pasted into an image program, all I got was the last text I'd copied. Not an image of the screen.

So something's broken with the screenshot capability of the browser.

This is what I see when I take a screenshot from the three dots.

These are all my 'screenshot' settings in about:config.

Problem solved using Firefox Screenshots doesn't work anymore, how to fix it? | Firefox Support Forum | Mozilla Support

I toggled extensions.screenshots.disabled and extensions.screenshots.upload-disabled settings in about:config - they were false - to true, then back to false, and now the screenshot capability works, and is present in my context menu.

Apologies to Ken (post 2), as this appeared to be the key to the solution.
