    I can't help you there Mike, sorry.

    By the way the only thing I have against Yahoo is they bite at security.

    I never had an account with them, but before I found out about their security problems, I use to love going to their homepage, specially the weather.
    They had/have the most intuitive, and best looking site and homepage of all the search engine companies.
    I've used Yahoo e-mail since 1999... never a breach problem! I don't use it as a search engine, tho'.

    Solved, it was my internet provider's fault, they were blocking it for some reason.

    Might have been an accident. No idea why only one of hundred internet providers would block just one site.

    Probably they use Malwarebytes.
    Their adwcleaner goes nuts when Yahoo is one of the search engines for Chrome, I need to delete it before running or it wants to go through the whole cleaning rig-a-marole.

    Well, some of us "old-timers" starting using Yahoo services before 2007, when Yahoo was still the cutting edge. As for Google, sure it has some great services, but you lose all your privacy when you use the "Do No Evil" empire.

    If you mean Yahoo as search engine you may be partially right but for the rest not so much. You can't solve a problem by pretending it doesn't exist.

    The issue that I have found with Yahoo is that If we get a new member who signs up with a Yahoo email address they are more likely to be a spammer or other problem member. this does not apply to all of course far from it, but they do seem to have taken over the dubious spam crown from their predecessor, AOL

    Hi there

    @win10user999

    @CountMike

    Remember this -- so yahoo is "Modern" by those standards

    YAHOO no more ?-aol.png

    I used to use YAHOO FINANCE to get stock market data --they had a good API which allowed you to regularly download market data into decent excel things where you could make nice custom reports.

    Yahoo finance still working -- however it's a lot more hobbled --for example to get the name of the FTSE 100 (London) components it now only throws up top 30 so it's not as useful any more

    Finance API no longer available either

    6 Alternatives to the Yahoo Finance API | Data Driven Investor

    A lot of trading platforms have vastly improved their packages and offerings these days so collecting historical EOD (end of day data -- usually OPEN, CLOSE, HIGH, LOW, VOLUME) isn't necessary any more either.

    Cheers
