Can't run Chrome or install Firefox when switching users

New system I built. Everthing works fine until I switch users to my other account. I cannot download Firefox; absolutely nothing happens. Further, Chrome did install but running it, even as Admin, does absolutely nothing. Don't understand what could be going on.

    Thanks.

Are you switching from a “Administrator” account to a “Standard” or self created restricted user account? Just use your Administrator account. It has rules set in place by the OS to still protect the OS from certain user actions.

Well, I wanted to avoid being in Admin mode while doing any online banking (which is really what the standard account is for). Further, shouldn't I still be able to install and use Chrome and Firefox? I mean, what in the hek is in the way?

    Update:

I was in the standard account and checked Settings > Accounts: stated I needed to verify who I am. After I did that, all went well. So we're good.

    Thanks much.

Administrator accounts is not a true Root account, which is disabled by default. I only use a Standard account for those like my fiancé’s daughter’s to keep them from accidentally installing stuff without asking me if it is okay. You can use Incognito mode for browsing sessions if you wish to not keep cookies and the such from sessions when banking, etc.

A layered approach as Windows Defender and Sandboxing in the modern Operating Systems, along with Web Browsers of today, including DNS over HTTPS, is making things secured. The majority of breaches happen on the webserver or hosting servers end with the end user being the minority in causing a security breach.

I do everything on my iPad Pro 2018. Very little is done on the desktop or Macbook.

Thanks, bro67. I just might look into using Sandboxie. Thanks again.
