How to make Edge Canary my default browser ?
It seems it is impossible to open the short cuts / tiles to websites that are on my "desk top" in Edge Canary. They keep opening in the standard Edge.
My system details are: Surface Go, 4GBram, 64GBstorage, Win10 S Mode Insider Fast, Edge Standard and Canary, Office 365, No physical keyboard, No mouse

Once I installed Edge Canary, as well as Edge Beta, they showed up as shortcuts on the desktop. I don't like much on the desktop, so I right-clicked on the shortcut and told it to pin It to the Start Menu. Then I deleted the shortcut on the desktop.
They both showed up as Microsoft programs on the list of all Apps. Then I right-clicked on the name on the start list and chose as 'Pin to Start' menu. Then it shows up as a tile. (You can probably skip this part if you don't want a new tile.)
Then, I opened the list of 'Default Apps', in the Settings Menu. Under Default Browser, it showed Edge, but when I right-clicked, it gave a drop-down, showing all the versions of Edge that are on the computer. I'm assuming if you choose Edge Canary or Edge Beta, that will then become your default browser.
This works on Win 10 Pro. You'll have to try it to see if Win 10 S is different.

Thanks for the reply and help.
It seems default browser can not be set.
It is because Canary builds are nightly builds, which by default makes them not able to be set as a default browser.
I like living on the Edge, the Canary Edge
Maybe the OP cant change it because it's in S mode. Im not up on the limitations of S mode.
