Copy Edge and Chrome Favorites / Bookmarks from Damaged Drive

Had a thread I started in the Performance & Maintenance sub-forum about a REALLY slow Toshiba laptop. I eventually put in a new drive and re-installed W10. Windows 10 Version 1909, Build 18363.418.

I put the old, slightly damaged drive in a caddy and was easily able to copy the pictures, documents and music from the old drive to a thumb drive. My friend used Chrome and Edge as browsers, and I can find no tutorial on accessing those favorites from that old drive - lots of info on exporting them from a WORKING computer, but how do I get them off this drive sitting in a caddy, plugged into this PC and accessible only as an F: drive?

I'm not sure if it's still possible at the moment, but for Chrome you could make a copy of the Google folder.

    You can find it here:
    %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Google

Restore this folder before installing Chrome.

Alternatively, if your friend was signed in with a Google account, the bookmarks should carry over the next time he login again.

For Chrome, copy the bookmarks file in this folder - C:\Users\{myname}\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default

Tip - routinely backup up you Chrome bookmarks to OneDrive then you can restore them to any PC.
