    File/app association question

Today I checked which apps I have associated with which files. I discovered that .mht; .mhtml; and .website are associated with Internet Explorer which I never use. I tried to associate them with Chrome but the option is not available; I am simply told to find another app in Microsoft Store.

Can anyone, please, give me an idea how to overcome this issue?

I thank one and all in advance for all assistance.

That's because Chrome cannot open them. The .mht/.mhtml file format is a single file saved web page. IE is the default for a very good reason, it is one of the few browsers that can save/open .mht files.

As of version 5.0, was the first browser to support reading and saving web pages and external resources to a single MHTML file.

There is no issue to overcome, .mht/.mhtml is associated with the only app you currently have that can open them. If you want to associate them with something else, then first you will have to find and install a third-party app or extension that can read them.
