erm, possibly. I decided to give Firefox another look as its been 2-3 years since I threw it out. I wish I hadn't. got it installed and running, well as far as a failed opening home page is running. Even tried manually changing url to a common uk site, still no go, even nasa and space.com would not open.
Weird. It works for me in Firefox:

Mind you I ditched Firefox when it became Quantum due to lack of addons. It seems better now but Vivaldi is still my drfault browser.

Select history on the side-bar. Click on first item, scroll to end & holding shift key, select last item. Right-click, delete. Presto. How's that?
I've done this as well & it works fine, but I was hoping for something along the lines of how Chrome handles it. In Chrome, I would select to Clean All History, but before the cleaning, I was able to deselect certain website cookies.

RE: Ctrl+Enter - in Chrome it adds www to the address bar? No need for that in vivaldi. Just type the address w/o www & it should work.
Not for me. Whatever I type (gmail, youtube, tenforums, etc.) & press Enter, Vivaldi just shows me a Search Results page.

In Vivaldi I have on the left hand column a small brush. I click on first item on list then brush, all is wiped Box has 'pause' 'restart' 'Remove' & 'remove all finished' (brush)
Where/how did you get a brush? I have Icons for Bookmarks, Downloads, Notes, History, Window & then there's a Plus sign to add Panels..

Try Ctrl H, this will launch the 'Manage History'. On the right side you will see the brush.

As an alternative method, select tools, then history.

Try the new edge beta. Runs great. 100% better than the old edge.

    Download Microsoft Edge Insider Channels

I run the CAN version on my Surface and notebook and I like it a LOT

I should also mention that while using Vivaldi, if you use it on Windows and Android, you can sync your bookmarks, passwords, notes, and open tabs. I always hated not having all of my bookmarks and passwords when I was away from my PC, problem solved with Vivaldi for Android.
