Google Slides Crashes My Google Chrome!

I noticed the program "Google Slides" on my crowded desktop. I didn't recall installing it, but I may have.
I clicked on it and nothing happened other than a bland half screen with my name on it.
I closed that and just tried to open my Google Chrome to see what google slides was all about. When I tried to open Chrome, Slides came up again. I was in a loop. Back and forth I went between the two with the same result.
Not knowing anything better to do, I opened IE went to google and downloaded and installed Chrome again. I know, stupid idea!
Now I have lost all my bookmarks and my program tabs. Can anyone help me get these back or is all lost?

    Thanks

    Morning.

Any chance you Image your system with a tool like Macrium Reflect?

Were you signing into Chrome with your gmail account, if so your bookmarks should be in the cloud. (Recommended)

If you have any other types of backups can you follow this path to the two bookmark files?

Google’s doc’s apps install as offline applications in Chrome. It is how Chromium desktop is built as the browser base. I would do a repair install of Chrome. You can delete those apps from Chrome.

I don't have an image of my system and I use outlook instead of gmail. I tried putting the path you gave me to the bookmarks in a search box under C: and got no results. I'm not that proficient at these problems. Perhaps you can suggest another method.
    Thanks again for your time.

I would like to thank both of you for your input. I had google sync installed, but turned off, since it quickly maxed out the allotted space. Another site suggested turning it on to get my bookmarks back and I did and they returned immediately!

If you need cloud storage, there are cloud services out there that you pay a one time fee for lifetime storage. Polar Backup Cloud Storage: Lifetime Subscription (5TB) | Android Central Digital Offers

I only use Onedrive for Business and my iCloud drive Apple Device backups.

Great. I would have a look at what you are syncing to use all that space. If you are syncing Chrome I would think you have a google address.

    Glad you got them back.
