    Internet Explorer

OK so I had a major update last night finally left it and went to bed around 2AM could not stay up waiting for it and my wife said she saw it was shut down by 7 this morning but that it had still be updating around 4-5AM.

So when I got up I got doing my normal routine and got to some of my web based games and because Flash is being removed next year my normal browser has already started to deal with this so that has forced me to use Internet Explorer to run the game at least for the time being but this morning I went to go open up IE from my WINDOWS ACCESSORIES folder in my start menu and it was gone.

Is there a reason they have finally removed IE from windows?

And secondly is there a safe copy I can download to get it back as I hate edge with a passion!

Hi, I think that's an assumption that that might be generally true.

IE is still there.. or should be.

What is your Windows build- win key + r, winver
Sadly it's not a forum requirement to state this so we have to keep asking.

And what was the last update you received? - Update History

Please post a screenshot of this: - is IE shown like this?

You can use that check box to remove and add IE11.

    - IE isn't installable in that manner.

And what do you see if you do this?

If you're just missing one shortcut, you can put that back yourself.

As far as I know, IE has not been removed from Windows, and no date has been announced as to when it may be.

    It's still present for me (Win10 X64 Pro, version 1903, build 18362.387).

Dalchina got ahead of me in suggesting checking the Windows Features selection.

I found it but it has in fact been removed from the start menu in last nights update as it was there yesterday and gone from the menu this morning!

Yesterday it was in the Windows Accessories folder but no longer.

As I said, if it's just the shortcut that's missing, create one and put it back there.

I've not -yet- heard of any other such occurrence.

There are actually two Windows Accessories folders, one for All users and another for your own personal Start menu. The Start menu combines these and displays one composite 'Windows Accessories' folder.

On one of my machines with a clean install, only shortcuts for Internet Explorer and Notepad are in the personal one, all the rest are in All Users. Create yourself a new shortcut in the Windows Accessories folder for your personal Start menu: %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

Add or Remove Items for All Apps in Start menu in Windows 10

Yeah I got it sort this morning once I realized it was still on my laptop just odd that it was there yesterday and gone this morning. I'm the only user on this laptop as my wife has her own laptop.

But I got it restored to the start menu now.

    Thanks!
