Opinion On New Chromium Edge Browser

    Hi All,
I just thought I'd ask the question for those of us that are actually using the new chromium edge browser, how are you feeling about it by now ? I'm using the latest 'canary' build, at least for me it seems to be steadily improving. I seem to find myself using chrome browser less & less. I will honestly say though I still find myself using the html version of edge from time to time. If you would like to please reply, I think it's great to get a feel for how other's think about things.

I actually like Chrome itself, better...it's more polished than Edge w/chrome...without the Font Rendering Enhancer extension, neither one matches Firefox in Web Page Rendering....I am using Chrome as my main browser, but should that extension stop working or go away..i would switch back to Firefox again...

I still use Chrome as my main browser but the new Edge is getting closer and closer, in that browser there are very interesting features that Chrome doesn't have, for example "Collections" or the favorites button in the toolbar, something I don't like about the new Edge is the padding in the ellipsis menu and in the context menus, it's too much, when I change from Chrome to Edge the difference is huge.

    Hi Craig,
No doubt that chrome is "more polished" than edge chromium, of course edge is steadily being built..so I think of it as a work in progress.

I agree, davy49...Would still say that without the Font Rendering Enhancer extension, neither one matches Firefox in Web Page Rendering...the fonts have a sharper and darker look that is easier on the eyes and with the extension, it is just as good...it's a shame that neither Google or MS seem to want to do anything about that one aspect...

    Hi Craig,
I also use firefox (I'm on the beta channel) sometimes, I would have to say the developer's really seem to be improving it. As far as "Web Page Rendering"..I don't seem to be having an issue with that. I use a 32" TV to view my computer's video.

Hi Davy49: Glad to hear that Chrome renders fine for you on your monitor (without the extension)...It may vary on different screens and monitors...On my HP 17" laptop sceen it makes quite a difference...I like Firefox a lot too and get the really good rending on my screen without need for any extension...

Although i was using regular Google Chrome for a while (w/extension) for my default browser, i just switched back to using Edge w/Chrome Development instead (w/extension)...It gets weekly updates, and i'd like to watch the progress of this new version of MS Edge which we will eventually get to replace the old version...

For my computer, i guess i could probably use Edge w/Chrome for the foreseeable future (as long as the extension is available and continues to work properly)...Or, if i get a new computer whose screen doesn't seem to need it...

I was using the Edge DEV for about 6 months and now use the Edge Beta at least 25% of the time....once it's ready for prime time, I will seriously consider switching from Chrome to ChromEdge...

I've been using the canary version since it was first announced. I've been very pleased with it's performance and the devs are willing to add features you suggest.
