Google Chrome browser on Start Menu gives a 404 when opened

How to replace with correct opening icon? Current icon seems to have become 'invalid/corrupted'.

    Thanks in advance.

A 404 if I'm not mistaken is a web page it cannot find, nothing to do with Icon.

Please confirm Chrome at least starts and you have to enter a new page to move away from 404 Web page.

If this is the case you need to update Start page(s).

Click three dots upper right in Chrome, click Settings, on the left click On Startup. Adjust Start pages as required.

Thanks Caledon Ken for your reply. Yes, I understand that Chrome starts but only at this 404 "page". The computer is not mine but an elderly friend who is trying to get used to his new operating system/new computer. Hopefully I will see him tomorrow and sit with him to apply the fix.

    Will let u know ASAP.

Look at the webpage in the address bar. I would do a full malware scan on the machine to begin with.

Thanks Caledon Ken (&bro67) - sorry for the delay but the elderly gentleman concerned has been in hospital.

Have now applied the "fix" and his browser works correctly again.
