Gmail inbox now empty - how can move email back to inbox

I have a Gmail account, but this is usually accessed through Outlook 2016. Since I'd been having serious problems with the synchronization, I blindly followed the advice given by RyanV_408 (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...?auth=1&page=2) and ended up with no subfolders, and all my inbox mail now in a folder named '\Inbox'.These changes were carried through to my Gmail account (don't know how!!).

I am now reinstalling Outlook, but before setting it up properly, would like to get things 'back to normal' with my Gmail account. How can I move the content of the '\Inbox' folder to 'Inbox'? I've tried 'Select All' and then 'Move To...' but this is denied. I have renamed '\Inbox' to 'Received', but this makes no difference. All this moving and renaming has also resulted in my not being able to receive email on my mobile!!

Many thanks to whoever can lend a hand...

Can you select them all and just drag them over to your inbox?
