    On the Menu bar... I use the old fashioned "Bookmarks" , above the Refresh arrow icon.
    I also removed the hamburger button, just now.
    Oh, at first read, it sounded like you meant too many bookmarks were displayed. got it now.

    Didn't ask me any of the first run stuff, just ran & updated fine. All my settings are good & still intact. One thing i'm not thrilled with is the double spacing or bigger "button size"...my bookmark list is way long now whereas it used to fit nicely on the page without the need to scroll up or down.
    Yes, all the menu spacing is too big.

    Well got most of it... FIXED

    browser.proton.enabled -- [false] This is the main preference. It will be the main preference going forward, while most of the development related proton preferences will be removed at one point in time.

    browser.aboutwelcome.design -- [false] The preference ensures that Firefox displays the new Welcome page for new users of the browser, provided that it has the value proton.

    Now using the 3.2.0 version... Releases . Aris-t2/CustomCSSforFx . GitHub

    ...and to stop auto updates... still using the "distribution" folder and dropping it in: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

    Still have to figure out how to change the "spacing" back.
    Like someone mentioned above.... I have too many bookmarks for this.... 1st grader spacing. :/

    You can change the bookmark spacing back to what it was by just setting "browser.proton.contextmenus.enabled" to false. You can keep all other proton features enabled. Also, here is some code that will change the spacing with all proton features enabled:

    menupopup > menuitem, menupopup > menu {
    padding-block: 2px !important;
    background-color: #f8f5f3 !important;
    color: black !important;
    padding-top:3px!important;
    padding-bottom:3px!important;
    margin-top:0px!important;
    margin-bottom:0px!important;

    }

    Just change the padding to what ever you like. Also in that code I have changed the background color to basically white and text black because dark themes change the context menus background color dark.

    I have organized my Bookamrks so the longest list is completely readable, on the whole screen), when I run FF is a windows, like this....
    This is a 30" 16:10 screen, and the way it is now, my bookmarks no longer fit on the "screen".

    The way FF89 set the spacing... I can only read half of my longest list of bookmarks.
    And... I've been "nesting" bookmarks in folders in folders, etc... for years.

    Mozilla is outta control !!!

    How about a about:config setting to stop the tabs bar from compressing?

    I don't know what you mean by... "compressing?
    And I don't know if you're offering or asking.

    Btw, here's the final results of all my tweaking...

    How do I get the separation back instead of it looking like one big tab across the top ?

    This is the way they were before the update.
    Any way to get this back ?

    Did you see this from LTsnow?

    You can change the bookmark spacing back to what it was by just setting "browser.proton.contextmenus.enabled" to false.

    Whew... that was a LOT of tweaking. I'm gettin' too old for this.

    Spacing yes, but if you are using dark mode, menu goes white.
